Drivers' Standings after Spainish GP | Verstappen puts Perez far behind
Max Verstappen took the full prize in the Spanish Grand Prix by crossing the finish line first and also taking the point for the fastest lap of the day. He again significantly extended his lead over runner-up Sergio Perez, who finished fourth at the Barcelona circuit.
The difference between the two Red Bull Racing drivers is now 53 points, more than two race wins. Fernando Alonso, despite a weaker weekend in Spain, retains third place. However, he does see Lewis Hamilton approach to within 12 points thanks to his 18 points. George Russell completes the top-five with 65 points.
The Ferrari drivers find themselves in sixth and seventh place. Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly occupy the eighth, ninth and tenth places respectively in the World Championship after seven GPs.
