After a first introduction to the track, the drivers will continue working on the setup of their cars during this second practice session. At the end of the session, the so-called long runs are scheduled, and then it will probably become clear which of the teams has the best chance over the race distance on Sunday. Judging from the other Grands Prix that have taken place this season, Red Bull Racing are likely to also be the best in Montreal.

It will be interesting to see who can cut to the chase behind likely frontrunner Red Bull. For example, will Ferrari have a good car over one qualifying lap on Saturday, but will Mercedes and Aston Martin be the better ones for the race? The midfield also promises to be particularly close in Canada, with a big question mark on Alpine: will the French team once again get close to Mercedes, Ferrari and Aston Martin, or will it mainly be a battle for crumbs in Montreal?
