Red Bull Racing have been competing in Formula 1 since 2005, and the Austrians have since racked up 100 wins and 11 world titles (six in drivers and five in constructors). Eddie Jordan knows why Red Bull is so successful and highlights two people in particular, Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen.

Newey and Horner long at Red Bull

According to Jordan, what makes Red Bull so successful? "Longevity, loyalty, focus, and attention to all the minor details. And I think, even though sometimes it looks somewhat a little bit turbulent from the outside, Adrian Newry has found his natural home. Yes, he was good at Williams, but he never really liked it."

Before Newey came to strengthen for Red Bull, he first left Williams for an adventure at McLaren. The top engineer was extremely successful there too, with several world titles. "And he and Ron Dennis at Mclaren, while they were massively successful, I think it just suits Adrian Newey. The brain that he's got, there's not many better brains in the entire universe, in my opinion, when it comes to this kind of getting speed out of something that you design"

In Jordan's view, Red Bull's successes are also mainly due to the fact that the composition of the team has been the same for so long. "I think it is a concoction of the main team, but the two key top people have been there for a very long time. It's not necessarily a marriage made in heaven, and sometimes that helps. Adrian can be a fiery guy, and Christian equally so, but it works."

Verstappen impressive

Moreover, the fact that Max Verstappen is driving the RB19, and will also be racing for Red Bull in the coming years, also helps. "Max Verstappen will emerge, over time, to be the greatest driver of all time, he's that good", Jordan says in the podcast Formula For Success. " I don't like the last couple of races, I have to tell you, I'm bored to death with them. He's just that good, he's making it boring, more than the Schumacher era!"
