It was perhaps the highlight of the sprint race: the battle between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez for the lead on the first lap of the 24-lap race, with men feeling the other went over the limit. Former Formula 1 world champion Damon Hill told viewers of Sky Sports his views on the fight.

"We want to see entertainment," begins the Briton, "If you are a team boss you might have a quiet word and say, 'What are you doing? That was a little bit too overaggressive. Do you mind not doing that in the future?' It was very feisty from Sergio."

'Understand Max into this more'

The Brit is therefore clear about who he understands more: "I understand it slightly more from Max's case. From our point of view, we could see Max out-broke himself [at Turn Three]. I don't think Checo knew that information at the moment, which is why he released his frustration."

Hill sees no team orders

It was the first really big fight between the two since the start of this season. Hill doesn't think the two Red Bull teammates are restricted from racing: "I want to believe that they fully can really race as much as they want. They showed today that they can do that a bit. At the end of the day, neither of those incidents cost them anything. We want to see them race, I don't know if Christian (Horner) is as happy as he showed."
