Update | McLaren welcome chrome livery for British GP
Since the 2018 season, the McLaren has been mostly orange. On a few previous occasions, the British team came up with a special livery for the car, such as Monaco 2021. On Twitter, McLaren seems to be hinting at a new special livery for this weekend's home race at Silverstone.
McLaren with special livery at Silverstone?
That McLaren is coming to the race at Silverstone with a bunch of new updates is no secret. However, the British team did post a somewhat special message on Twitter. In the video, McLaren shows a lot of pictures of older McLaren cars, all with a chrome livery. This is an iconic livery of the Woking-based team, but from 2015 the team renounced this livery.
In the tweet, the team says: "Cool then, still cool now". The team's logos on Twitter and Instagram have also been changed to the McLaren logo with a chrome colour. Earlier this year, the British team already drove a special Indy 500 livery at the Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix.
