Mick Schumacher gets behind the wheel of McLaren Formula One car
- Sam Godber
Former Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher has got behind the wheel of a McLaren Formula 1 car. Not at Silverstone where Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri can be found next weekend but in Portimão. The German was here to complete a test on behalf of McLaren.
Mercedes loaned Schumacher to McLaren for the 'Testing of Previous Car' (TPC). There is an agreement between Mercedes and McLaren that test drivers are shared. This was not Schumacher's first Formula One test this season, as he was also previously testing Pirelli's new tyres in Barcelona.
Schumacher seeks Formula One seat
Schumacher has been emphatically looking for a Formula 1 seat in recent months and hopes to make his comeback in the king class of motorsport soon. Helmut Marko has already made it clear that being Toto Wolff 's driver means he has to make the choice of what is best for the former Haas driver.
