Wolff sees common goal for F1 teams: 'Break Red Bull's run'
Toto Wolff sees his own team currently unable to make things difficult for Red Bull Racing. Behind Max Verstappen's team, however, an exciting battle is taking place between Mercedes, Ferrari and Aston Marin. According to Wolff, these Formula 1 teams have a common goal: to break Red Bull's dominant run.

Wolff stresses that the current generation of F1 cars is being developed in a different way from the previous ones. "I believe that only one team has gotten that right so far, and obviously, they carry that advantage with them. They are not stopping. All of us behind, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and us, you can see, sometimes Alpine too, we are all in a very tight bunch," says the Mercedes boss.
He continues: "We need to break the run of a team that is the benchmark at the moment on merit, good engineering and a very good driver. We just have to go there. None of us has another choice than to catch up."
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished outside the top ten in both the first and second free practice sessions. This could indicate that the new updates were not a success, but Helmut Marko hinted that Mercedes may not have been running at full power.
