The British Grand Prix was the site of an impressive run of 11 wins in a row for Red Bull Racing. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are responsible for equalling the record set by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. Horner says he is thrilled to match the 1988 record.

Prost and Senna, who was racing at McLaren at the time, together achieved 11 victories in a row. "It's an incredible record, 1988 with the McLaren Honda, achieved those 11 victories with Senna and Prost, to think that we've matched that, that's testimony to the hard work of the team, of the commitment of the drivers, of reliability, of strategy," Horner told GPblog and others.

Horner at Silverstone on McLaren record

"It's been a phenomenal run of success for us, and I think it's something, particularly here at Silverstone, our local circuit, the factory is only 15 miles up the road, we have so many employees living in the local area, to achieve this result here is something the whole team can be immensely proud of," the Red Bull team boss said.

It remains to be seen whether this Red Bull run will soon come to an end. Indeed, Verstappen is hardly unstoppable by the competition and those two races that the reigning world champion did not win, Perez was on the top step of the podium.
