Wolff doubts eleventh Formula One team: 'We are tripping over each other'
- Sam Godber
Wolff said at Silverstone that a possible eleventh team in Formula 1 does not exactly seem like a good idea to him. He says it would then become far too crowded on the track and it would also be dangerous. But the Austrian Mercedes team boss says he is always open to good developments.
"When you look at qualifying sessions, I mean already now we are looking like on a go-kart track, we are tripping over each other. There is a safety concern, we haven't got the logistics where to put an 11th team. Here in Silverstone we can accommodate the Hollywood people but on other circuits we can't," Wolff said.
An eleventh team in Formula 1?
"if a team can contribute to the positive development of Formula 1, then in a way that the other teams have done over the many years, have suffered over the many years, yeah we have to look at it," Wolff told reporters after the first two free practice sessions during the weekend at Silverstone.
Earlier, Wolff made statements about Formula 1 teams, but then it was mainly to call on other formations to jointly stop Red Bull Racing.
