- GPblog.com
On Tuesday, it was announced that Nyck de Vries had been sacked from AlphaTauri. The Dutchman's performance was disappointing and Helmut Marko was adamant he replaced De Vries with Daniel Ricciardo after only ten races. A day after the big news, the Dutchman was reportedly spotted in Monaco with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff.
De Vries spotted with Wolff in Monaco
De Vries did not get beyond ten races at AlphaTauri. The 28-year-old was almost always slower than teammate Yuki Tsunoda and will be replaced by Ricciardo in Hungary. The Australian was the reserve driver at Red Bull Racing earlier this season. De Vries himself has yet to comment on the news.
On Wednesday, a day after the Dutchman was released from Scuderia AlphaTauri, De Vries and Wolff were reportedly spotted together in Monaco. The former AlphaTauri driver has a past with Mercedes, as De Vries previously drove for the German constructor's Formula E team and was a reserve driver there. Mercedes' team boss also felt De Vries deserved a seat in F1 last year. Could Wolff still do something for the Dutchman in Formula 1?
