Alpine had a dramatic weekend in Britain. Both Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly failed to cross the finish line at Silverstone. Moreover, Alpine did not have impressive speed. Gasly says upgrades are coming soon.

Gasly announces upgrades for Alpine

Ocon soon dropped out at Silverstone with a reliability problem. Pierre Gasly had a long battle with Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll. First, the Canadian passed Gasly off track, to which the Frenchman was not at all pleased. Later, the two drivers even touched in the final chicane, which meant the end of the race for Gasly. Stroll was able to continue his race, but received a five-second time penalty for the latest incident with the Alpine driver.

Gasly is also concerned about the speed of his A523. "Hopefully in a couple of races the picture will again look very different," Gasly refers to his Alpine's inferior speed compared to the rest of the field when speaking to GPblog and others. "We got upgrades and I don't think it's the right thing looking at what others have done. We just need to make steps. There is no secret. We've got to improve our package and that's what we will all be working on. We already got stuff coming in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, it will make a difference."
