Silly season: 'Norris to Ferrari, Sainz at Audi, Leclerc to Mercedes?'
The rumour mill is at full speed again! F1 teams never sit still and sometimes are already working on their driver duo for years to come. Well-informed journalist Joe Saward discusses the latest rumours going around the paddock on his blog.
The British journalist is aware that Alexander Albon and Lando Norris, both performing well, are in the interest of Red Bull and Ferrari. Saward reports that the Austrians may have to put Norris out of their minds. "there are some who believe that Lando may already have some kind of pre-contract with Ferrari," writes the journalist.
Sainz to Audi, Leclerc to Mercedes?
This would be linked to a possible switch of Carlos Sainz to Audi, Saward writes. But Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is also said to be considering a switch: "The rumour mill now thinks Carlos Sainz will go off to Audi in 2025 while others think Charles Leclerc will go mad if he stays where he is at Ferrari and that Mercedes would love to have him." Where there is smoke there is fire, many think, although Saward points out that he cannot state with certainty that all rumours are also based on the truth,"I am merely pointing out the chitchat."
