Mick Schumacher pays tribute to father this weekend
Mercedes third driver Mick Schumacher will pay a magnificent tribute to his father, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. During this event, Schumacher will adopt his father's signature red helmet and overalls from the 2011 season, the Mercedes team indicates in an official press release.
Demonstration in Mercedes W02
On Saturday and Sunday, Mick Schumacher will give the Mercedes W02 the spurs over Goodwood's short track, the car driven by Nico Rosberg and father Schumacher in the 2011 season. With a Mercedes V8 engine, the audience will additionally be able to enjoy the distinctive F1 sound. So, to honour his father's successful career, Mick Schumacher will wear his father Michael's bright red helmet and racing suit.
Goodwood Festival of Speed
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual event for motorsport enthusiasts. Racing cars from all kinds of decades and racing classes turn their laps in front of thousands of spectators during this multi-day event. There are also F1 teams demonstrating their cars at Goodwood every year. So this year, Mercedes' team, among others, will give an appearance.
The event started on Thursday, 13 July, and will continue until Sunday. Tickets are unfortunately completely sold out, but the official live stream can be watched for free.
