Hamilton questions remainder of F1 career: 'Sometimes I don't know'
Lewis Hamilton, now 38, occasionally thinks about the remainder of his Formula 1 career. The Brit from Stevenage does not really like travelling a lot and misses his family. The world championship in 2023 out of his mind. He simply says he is trying to help the team as much as possible.
"I really don't care what position I finish in this year. I am focused on giving the best development information for the team. Working with the guys, making sure we steer this car in the right way," Hamilton told Channel 4 Sport in an interview .
Hamilton unsure about continuing with Formula One
"I have days where I'm like I don't know if I can keep going. That's just based on the lot of travelling. All the sacrifices people make in their careers. Striking a balance between social life, family life and career being the best it can. Something has to give. The other two, which are the most important, take a hit. I think about that often. But then I get into the paddock and get into the car, I'm like damm I love this so much," Hamilton said.
Hamilton has still not renewed his contract at Mercedes. Although it seems to be just a formality, a deal has not yet been announced. During the Austrian Grand Prix, team boss Toto Wolff could be seen addressing Hamilton over the team radio. Perhaps this had something to do with the negotiations taking place.
