Will Vettel return to Formula 1? 'I do have some ideas'
- Toby McLuskie
Former Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel does not really have full plans yet when it comes to a comeback in the king class of motorsport. The 36-year-old German stopped driving in Formula 1 after the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The four-time world champion previously spoke about the dismissal of Nyck de Vries, but now also about his own plans.
The German says between the lines that the Formula 1 sock isn't finished yet, according to a question put to him by PlanetF1 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. "We will see, but I have some ideas. I went to Monaco earlier this year. I had a very good conversation with F1 boss Stefano Domenicali."
Vettel in Formula 1?
"There is a lot of interest from different quarters. I also spend a lot of time with my children. We also did some travelling in the van, so I do enjoy that. I think I'll get out sooner or later and take on a new challenge," said former Ferrari and Aston Martin driver Vettel.
The German motorsport driver won four Formula One world championships. In 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, he was the man with the most points in the world championship. In his Formula 1 career so far, he has achieved 53 victories and 122 podium finishes.
