The RB19 is pretty much finished, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner confirmed to Sky Sports. The updates the team brought to Hungary appear to be the last major updates of the year.

Red Bull brought new sidepods to the Hungaroring. The inlet of the sidepod has become smaller and is shaped like a letterbox. It should give the Austrian racetrack an aerodynamic advantage and also not reduce cooling. In Hungary, keeping the car and tyres cool poses a big problem for many drivers, although Red Bull does not seem to be suffering from this for now, with the new parts. "The cooling of the car seems under control, although it is a challenge," he said.

With the update, the team also hopes to have pre-sorted for still upcoming Grands Prix. "We have to take into account hot venues, Singapore and street tracks etc. The guys are confident in the numbers and the car seems to be cooling okay."

Bad news for competition Red Bull

The Red Bull boss had bad news for the competition:"This upgrade is the last significant one before the end of the year." That means the team can largely focus on the RB20 for next season from now on. Red Bull hopes this will give it a big lead over the competition. Lewis Hamilton already feared this scenario and asked the FIA for a change in the regulations.

The seven-time world champion wanted teams to be allowed to work on the new car only from a certain date, so that a lead, as Red Bull now seems to have, would be ruled out.

'Talked to Perez'

The team boss also addressed the situation of Sergio Perez. The Mexican driver crashed his car during the first free practice, which is in line with his disappointing performance of the past few Grands Prix. "You have to talk these things through and be open and honest. I spoke to him yesterday and had breakfast with him this morning. The time he put there on the scrub medium less than a tenth away from Max, I'd say he had the right breakfast! That's what we know he is capable of."
