Hamilton: 'Not a day when it was fun to drive the car'
- Toby McLuskie
Lewis Hamilton says he did not really enjoy racing in the Mercedes car last season. The Englishman from Stevenage says it feels a lot better for him in the W14 today. Earlier, he said he sometimes doubts whether he wants to continue racing. The number 44 driver's contract extension seems to be just a formality.
Hamilton didn't like his Mercedes last year
"I think I've been enjoying myself more this year. In truth, just generally, the car's not been enjoyable to drive. It really hasn't. Last year particularly, there wasn't a day that the car was enjoyable to drive. It's a Formula 1 car and you want to be able to enjoy it, but actually it was so terrible," Hamilton told the press conference after qualifying for the Hungarian GP.
The 38-year-old driver is currently fourth in the world championship standings but hopes to pass Fernando Alonso soon. At the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, he will get another chance to try this. The difference between the two vedettes is just six points.
