Horner and Krack on tyre blankets ruling: ‘Not ready for 2024’
It has been recently announced that while there have been plans to remove tyre blankets from Formula 1, they will stay at least until the end of 2024. Red Bull and Aston Martin Team Principals Christian Horner and Mike Krack commented on this latest news on tyre blankets.
"At the end of the day, I think it was a long discussion, where all the stakeholders went through the drawing comps, and at the end, all of us, we decided that we need a bit more development on them, and postponed by one year," Aston Martin’s Team Principal Krack began.
Christian Horner also agreed with the Luxemburger. "I think that it's just too early in the process. We did a test recently with Pirelli, I think they've made good progress, but I think there was a collective decision that it's not quite ready for 2024."
