After a solid qualifying performance by Sergio Perez, the Mexican will start from the front row of the grid at the Belgian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver suffered a lot from the qualifying ghost, as he failed to make Q3 five times in a row. At Spa-Francorchamps, the 33-year-old driver still managed to get to the final part of qualifying. From there, he may try to reap the flights on Sunday.

Perez comments on where the difficulties were for him: "Yeah, I've certainly had a bit of a rough patch with the car and with my driving style. I've been working on it and it's no different to any other driver out there. I think drivers, we go through these periods where we are just finding our sweet spot. It has happened to anyone, but yeah, it's a long season," the driver said after his qualifying.

Perez still has a long Formula One season ahead of him

"And like I always say, people only remember where you finish in Abu Dhabi. So for me, it's still a very long season ahead. I want to get my season back on track, but I know, and I've done it before, so I think we're heading in the right direction," said the man who gets to start from the front row on Sunday.

Peter Windsor said earlier that this race is Perez's perfect chance to finally win again. The British analyst also said he might face problems if he did not win the race.
