Alonso impressed with Verstappen, but not Holland: 'Not much F1'

Fernando Alonso is the oldest driver on the current Formula 1 grid. However, his achievements are no less as the Aston Martin driver was very competitive, especially at the beginning of the Formula 1 season. The man who turned 42 over the weekend in Belgium was a guest on the BBC's Chequered Flag podcast.
"I like Max," says Alonso. "He's a driver who just comes Thursday to the circuit, dresses in a Red Bull uniform, races Saturday and Sunday and leaves the track, goes back home and is still racing on the sim or in GTs with his father or just enjoying motorsport in general but having a normal life," the Spaniard continued.
Alonso on Verstappen and the Netherlands
Alonso is apparently not hugely impressed, Formula 1-wise, with Verstappen's country. "Coming also from the Netherlands, [a country] with not much background of F1. He's still a very normal person, just loving motorsport, and he's very fast. I think his attitude and behaviour here in the circuit, he is very normal and I like these kinds of things," Alonso said.
In the battle for the world championship, Alonso is still fighting for a podium spot. He is in a respective third spot currently, but he sees rival Lewis Hamilton approaching. The Spaniard is just one point ahead of the Mercedes driver. Alonso's car seems to be getting less and less competitive
