UPDATE 10 AM: Ricciardo has no vacation: 'Lots of training'

It all happened at lightning speed. Nyck de Vries sacked, Daniel Ricciardo appointed. The Australian only had a little over a week to physically prepare for his Formula 1 debut. That period is (much) too short to get fully fit, and so what Ricciardo knows what awaits him over the next three weeks: training.
Whereas the nineteen other drivers can afford to lie on a beach bed somewhere sunny after twelve races, Ricciardo will have to work hard to catch up. After the Belgian Grand Prix, Ricciardo told GPblog and others that there is work to be done, but again he is not dissatisfied with his current physical condition.
"I'm going to use this time to play catch up from a physical standpoint because obviously my race fitness isn't what all the other drivers is. But probably the one thing I was happiest about on Sunday was how I felt after the race. I actually felt a lot better than I thought I was going to feel. So I'm going to use shutdown to train," said the new teammate of Yuki Tsunoda, who did not score any points in his first two weekends for AlphaTauri.
Zandvoort demanding
Of course, Ricciardo is also going to enjoy his holiday a bit, but: " I've had a holiday for six months. I'll just use that to train and make sure I get in because Zandvoort is very physical as well. It's very hard on the neck. That one is fast. So just make sure I'm doing that. And I think if I'm physically in shape and then I think kind of mentally and everything, it feels easier coming into a weekend like you. There are less questions to be answered," he states.
Update 10 AM
It turns out that Daniel Ricciardo is not only training hard for the continuation of the F1 season. DJ Martin Garrix has posted a photo on Instagram with Tiësto and Daniel Ricciardo as well. It reads: "Crazy day in Ibiza!! Thanks for partying in the rain." It is not known whether the trio started training hard afterwards.
