Red Bull junior gets ready for Zandvoort: 'That's the most important thing'
Formula 2 driver Ayumu Iwasa is currently third in the Formula 2 championship, but the Red Bull junior would like to become world champion in the Formula 1. Whether a spot in Formula 1 will open up for him remains to be seen. In any case, Iwasa is happy with his performance in F2.
"To be honest, I didn't come here in a situation I was happy with, but this is my second year in FIA F2 and I am still learning new things. If I can apply those things well, I will be in good shape for the remaining three rounds [Zandvoort, Monza and Yas Marina]," the Japanese driver told AutosportWeb.

But so what things is Iwasa learning? "This year, there are more drivers with an aggressive driving style in F2. I feel that the way we fight is not exactly the same as last year. Therefore, I think we have to be better prepared and fight harder, which I think is the most important thing," says the Osaka-based driver.
Since 2021, the 21-year-old driver has been part of Red Bull Racing's junior team. In the Formula 2 championship, the Japanese only has to face Theo Pourchaire and Frederik Vesti above him.
