Herbert hopes Hamilton is talking to Ferrari 'That's the only option'
It seems to be only a matter of time before Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will re-sign with his current employer. This has not always been the case and the seven-time world champion was even linked to Ferrari, but that seems to have come to nothing. Former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert thinks that is a shame, he tells CasinoSite.NL.
"I hope he is still thinking that Mercedes potentially isn’t working for him and what is the next best thing? The Red One. Ferrari. That’s the only option. Are those conversations happening? I would be shocked if nothing was happening. I think it would be the best thing to do as I've said before. They have all the ingredients, they just need to get them all mixed together," Herbert said.
Does Hamilton stand a chance of winning a world championship at Ferrari?
"They started aiming for poles and potentially winning races, but now they’re nowhere near that. And everyone else has got better. They are not in the position that Lewis would want to be able to win another world championship," concluded the former British racing driver from Brentwood.
Ferrari are below Mercedes in the battle for the world championship among constructors. Drivers George Russell and Hamilton together managed 56 more points than Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz did together.
