Ludic action by marshals from turn three: Stroopwafel for Ricciardo!
During the second free practice session, AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo slid off the track and ended up in the wall. The Australian suffered a fractured metacarpal and will not be back in action at Zandvoort this weekend. Some marshals from the corner where Ricciardo crashed then had a nice action in store.
Ludicrous action for Ricciardo
"We saw this happening, and we already saw that his arm was bothering him. We know he loves syrup waffles, and we were like: We'll stick a pack of syrup waffles in his car. We hope the injury is not too bad and that we see him back in the car this weekend," one of the marshals from turn three told Viaplay.
That Ricciardo loves the Dutch snack should be no secret, as the 34-year-old driver had already been spotted carrying a stroopwafel around him before the weekend. Check out AlphaTauri's tweet here.
