Ocon and Gasly praise Zandvoort: 'Great circuit with unique atmosphere'
The past few weeks and months have seen considerable changes within French team Alpine. Drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly did not run very special practice sessions on the first day at Zandvoort, but they are both satisfied nonetheless. In a press release, the two drivers are enthusiastic about the atmosphere at Zandvoort and the day they had.
"Zandvoort is always enjoyable with the amazing atmosphere, and it was no different here today. On track, it’s been a pretty straightforward Friday where we’ve just focused on our programme," Ocon said after the first two practice sessions on Friday.
Gasly and Ocon like-minded about Zandvoort
"Tomorrow, every hundredth of a second will make a big difference in Qualifying. We made a good step between Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2, and now we need to find a bit more for tomorrow," Gasly said.
In the constructors' standings, Alpine find themselves in a bit of no man's land. McLaren is 46 points ahead of Ocon and Gasly's team. And Alpine, in turn, is 46 points ahead of pursuer Williams with Logan Sargeant and Alexander Albon.
