A strong qualifying brought Lando Norris the second starting position for the race at Zandvoort. However, the Briton was unable to convert this good result into a podium finish. Norris finished in seventh place and does not look back at Sunday's race with satisfaction in treacherous conditions at Zandvoort.

Norris put his McLaren MCL60 alongside Max Verstappen on the front row of the grid. Despite his determination to battle Verstappen, Norris' race was somewhat disappointing. The Briton and his team decided during the first raindrops to continue a lap longer on slicks instead of a quick change to intermediates. The McLaren driver lost a lot of time on the wet track and fell back outside the points.

Norris: 'We were now on the losing side'

Despite this, Norris fought his way back to seventh position. He began, "If I start by looking at the final positions, we got some points, which is
a good thing, but not as many as we should have got today
." Norris admits that some wrong decisions were made in the changing conditions: "We made some
incorrect decisions, and on a day like today, that can win or lose you a lot of time. We were just on the losing end.
" The young Briton believes it is not possible to do everything perfectly in these conditions, but does indicate that McLaren needs to analyse the decisions.
