Hamilton continues to chase dream at Mercedes: 'I still love it'
- Toby McLuskie
Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract at Mercedes and will still be seen in a Mercedes in both 2024 and 2025. It had been in the air for a while, but it has now become final. The seven-time world champion is very happy with the signature now under the contract. He talks about his relationship with Mercedes.
"Having everyone firing on all cylinders is not easy in a large team and so that takes consistent work. [It's the] same from a driver's perspective, just making sure you're performing every weekend. Even though I've been driving and racing all these years, I still feel like I can improve each weekend," Hamilton says.
Hamilton continues with Mercedes
The Mercedes driver continues with what for him are the charms of the sport: "I think that's what I love about this sport. You're never going to reach perfection but the pursuit of perfection is one of the most exciting things about what we do," Hamilton says.
"I think a lot of people stay in the same jobs and roles for a long period of time and fall out of love with it, but just keep going because it's maybe the only thing they can do. For me, it's what I generally love. I still love getting in the car. I still love racing with my peers and I still love working alongside Bono and all the guys in the garage and the team, chasing that common goal and dream," the Englishman from Stevenage revealed.
