Sainz conquers fourth pole at Monza: 'Feeling cannot be described'
Carlos Sainz took pole position for Ferrari in the home race at Monza on Saturday. The Spaniard was thirteen thousandths faster than Max Verstappen. Sainz finds the feeling of taking pole difficult to describe in words for the Tifosi.

After qualifying, Sainz can hardly contain his achievement. "Difficult to put into words, and to describe the feeling. It's just amazing. The whole weekend, since we arrived here on Wednesday, the support and the feeling with the crowd and the energy that they put into us, it's incredible. I had my birthday yesterday so I enjoyed that. I'm pretty sure it gave me a good feeling, good vibes and good energy into today," Sainz said after qualifying.
Sainz happy with Ferrari car
At Zandvoort, Sainz said Ferrari was still the sixth or seventh team, but a week later the Scuderia is in pole position. "I've been feeling very comfortable with the car and I put together honestly one of my best laps there in Q3. Tight with these two [Verstappen and Leclerc] like it used to be last year and I enjoyed that lap a lot."
Sainz couldn't even see first corner
According to Sainz, the 2023 cars are still bouncing. "You are just seeing turn one come at 340 kilometers an hour and with these cars that jump around you cannot even see turn one because of the vibrations and the speed that we are doing. So you are just trying to find your braking point as much as you can and even sometimes it is quite difficult to find it. I am looking at turn one from the beginning of the straight seeing where is my braking point because I need to find it," Sainz concluded.
