Marko's comment not correct according to Verstappen: 'No way, not at all!'
After the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where the winner was Max Verstappen for the tenth time in a row, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko talked about the reigning world champion's nervousness. Verstappen himself does not recognise anything about him in that remark Marko made about him, responding to the 80-year-old man from Graz's reproach.
Verstappen disagrees with Marko after Italian GP
In an interview after the Monza race, Marko indicated that Verstappen was tense because he could win his tenth race in a row. The two-time world champion reacted to his colleague's statement to De Telegraaf: "No way, I was not nervous at all," Verstappen said after the Italian Grand Prix.
"Maybe Helmut [Marko] likes to say that. On the contrary, I was very relaxed this whole weekend," said the Formula 1 world championship leader. With the tenth victory in a row, Verstappen has built a huge lead in the world championship. He stands on a points total of 364, while teammate Sergio Perez is in second place with 219 points.
