Where and when is the Singapore Grand Prix in 2024?

The Singapore Grand Prix is now a regular on the Formula 1 calendar. The event will take place on 20, 21 and 22 September 2024. Racing will take place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, located in the middle of Singapore and along the beautiful bay. The race will take place in the evening (local time), which means it will be dark in Singapore.

How to travel to the Singapore GP?

The city-state of Singapore is located in Asia and for many years was mainly used as a hub from Europe to other Asian countries and Australia/New Zealand. Meanwhile, Singapore has become a tourist attraction. From all corners of the world, there are (direct) flights to Singapore Changi Airport. This includes Australia, Malaysia, China, New York, Amsterdam and London to name just a few.

Once arrived, it is possible to take a taxi to the centre of the metropolis, which has a population of over 3.7 million. A cheaper alternative is to take the metro from the airport towards the city. During race weekend, the metro and bus are the best means of transport to reach your grandstand. Walking - if you are staying nearby - is also an option, but it can be extremely hot in Singapore and the humidity is high. Travelling by metro in particular is recommended, although you only have to make a limited number of stops. A Singapore Tourist Pass gives you three days of unlimited travel on public transport in Singapore.

Depending on your stand, you will have access to one or more zones. The map below shows how to get to your assigned zone and which metro station is nearby. After the races, expect longer queues for the metro stations.

Where to stay during the Singapore GP?

In Singapore, there is suitable accommodation for a range of budgets: you can choose from basic hostels or one of the extremely expensive hotels. Around 40,000 tourists are expected during race weekends, so it pays to book a room early. Unlike in Europe, there are no campsites for F1 fans. Before and after the races, there are plenty of restaurants and food courts to eat delicious food!

How much do tickets for the Singapore GP cost?

The Singapore Grand Prix is held on a street circuit. So keep in mind that from the stands, you will only see the stretch of asphalt in front of you. When choosing your grandstand, you should carefully consider whether you only want to watch Formula 1, or also see the concerts from top artists. The biggest names take to the stage on the Padang Stage in Zone 4. Zone 4 is open to all ticket holders, but ticket holders of Zone 4 can only visit in their own area. However, walking from Zone 1 to Padang Stage stage, for instance, is a lengthy activity.

Zone 1 is the stadium section, with the first corner and start-finish. Tickets are the most expensive here, around £670 (€800) each for three days (converted). A three-day ticket for Zone 4 can be booked for around £350 (€400). The cheapest seats can be found in Zone 3 (Stamford Grandstand) and cost around £235 (€275) for three days. The adventurous F1 visitor will opt for a Walkabout ticket (standing seats) for £170 (€200).
