Perez after dramatic F1 weekend in Qatar: 'We had some good conversations'
Whereas Max Verstappen had an unforgettable weekend, the Qatar Grand Prix was one to quickly forget for Sergio Perez. The Red Bull Racing driver therefore sets his sights on the Formula 1 weekend in the United States and looks ahead to the race in Austin.
Perez looks forward to US and Mexico
Perez took home just one point in the F1 weekend in Qatar. As he leaves for the Americas, he is keen to treat his fans, who will be present in large numbers, to a strong result.
"I’m looking forward to the next few weeks of racing. Austin and Mexico are two of my favourite weeks of the year, I have such incredible support in both places and that means a lot to me. Even when you can’t hear it in the car, you can feel it," Perez said ahead of the F1 race at the Circuit of the Americas.
"I know I have to get back to my best at COTA, it’s a fun circuit to drive and I am confident we can perform there. I was in Milton Keynes last week working very hard with the Team to ensure we are as best prepared as possible for the coming weeks," he continued.
At the Red Bull campus, there was much to discuss between Perez and his team. "We had some good conversations and I spent time with my engineers to ensure we know where we have been going right, where things have gone wrong and how we can improve," Perez said.
