Marko impressed with Verstappen: 'Hard to drive 50 laps like that'
Max Verstappen had to work hard for it, but the Dutchman finally managed to win the United States Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver suffered brake problems during the race, which made it difficult for Verstappen. Therefore, Red Bull's top advisor, Helmut Marko, is impressed with the triple world champion.
Brake problems for Verstappen
The brake pads on Verstappen's car were replaced with other pads after the sprint race. Marko told ServusTV: "This is normally a routine job. Already after a few laps, Max complained that the brakes worked unevenly, at times braking too hard at the front and at other times at the back. It was difficult to drive 50 laps like that."
Marko praises Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton made the end of the race very exciting. The Mercedes driver was closing in on Verstappen but fell just short of making an attack. Marko said: "I think Lewis drove a sensational race. He didn't make any mistakes either."
