Red Bull Racing partners with e-sports team from Max Verstappen
- Ludo van Denderen
Red Bull Racing is starting a partnership with Team Redline, the two parties announced on Tuesday morning. In both teams, Max Verstappen was the driving force; at the Formula 1 team and the e-sports team from the Netherlands.
The merger means a new team name and logo for Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing and will see Team Redline lead Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing's performance management ahead of this year's Formula 1 Esports Series Pro Championship. With a focus on nurturing and developing talent, a dedicated Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing facility will also be set up at Team Redline's headquarters. As the most successful team on the grid, Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing will retain the entire current team of drivers and content creators, with an ongoing drive to become the leading force on both the physical and virtual circuits.
Exciting times for Red Bull and Team Redline
Commenting on the new partnership, Joe Soltysik, head of Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing Team Esports, said, "This partnership marks an ambitious positive step on our journey to win back our Team title in F1 Esports. Since the creation of our sim racing Team in 2018, we have been committed to being the best competitors on the grid and constantly looking for ways to improve our performance. Partnering up with one of the most successful teams in sim racing history is an opportunity we are delighted to have taken and I am incredibly excited about the potential of what we can achieve together."
Director of Team Redline, Atze Kerkhof, said, "This is an exciting new challenge for the Team, having already built a good relationship with Red Bull under Verstappen.com Racing – this seemed like the logical next step for us to collaboratively take. Team Redline is excited for this new challenge and is looking forward to getting to work."
