Lia Block on behalf of Williams new driver F1 Academy season '24

Constructor Williams has announced which female driver the team will enter the F1 Academy grid in 2024. American driver Lia Block will get behind the wheel of the Williams on behalf of team owner James Vowles ' team, the constructor announced. Next season will be the second season of the Formula One Academy.
"I am so excited to be joining the Williams Driver Academy and competing in F1 Academy in 2024," opens the 17-year-old American driver from Park City. "This is something I never could have dreamed of. I can’t wait to embrace this new experience and learn as much as possible," Block says.
Vowles happy with Block
"We cannot wait to get started on this journey together. As a team, we are committed to Formula 1 and F1 Academy’s joint efforts to improve female representation in motorsport, and we look forward to working with Lia as a key part of the Williams Racing Driver Academy," Vowles concludes.
The F1 Academy prepares drivers for the next step in their careers. Delphine Biscaye, Competition Manager of the F1 Academy racing class, recently spoke to GPblog about the success the competition is already having.
