No cooldown room in Las Vegas: was it really necessary?

The organisers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix are breaking with a tradition after the race: there will be no so-called cooldown room, where the top three finishers can recover for a while. This time in Las Vegas night, they will be conducted directly from their cars onto the podium. With the weather conditions expected, it also seems unnecessary to cool down for a while, as it is going to be cold all evening.

As we know, this time the Grand Prix will not be finished on Sunday, but already on Saturday. By the way, something to get used to, as two of the next three races are also going to be on a Saturday. So before that, first the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where the starting lights go out at 22:00 local time.
Nevada - the US state in which Las Vegas is located - is known for its relatively cold evenings and nights. It is expected to be around 11 degrees Celsius during the race, with the wind chill being around nine degrees. In other words, anyone attending the race would be wise to dress warmly.
At least the rain poncho can be left in one of the expensive hotels on the Strip. In fact, the chance of rain during the Grand Prix is only two per cent according to Weather.com.
