Sargeant learned a lot: 'Performing every day'
- GPblog.com
Logan Sargeant is not yet sure of his future in F1. The American is 21st in the standings with just one point. His teammate scored 27 points. His contract has not yet been renewed yet, but he still has a chance. How does the rookie himself look back on his season?
Speaking to Formula 1, Sargeant reflects on his first season in motorsport's premier class: "I think the biggest thing for me is appreciating the level of effort that needs to go into it to be able to perform at such a level every single day. You can get away with it on a semi-average day in junior formulas, you’re still right at the front, whereas here, that’s not the case."
Vegas as highlight
What was the highlight for the young American? "Definitely the quali in Vegas, for sure," Sargeant said. On the street circuit in the gambling city, he managed to put his Williams in seventh place, but converting to points just failed again. "I think to be able to finally put it together over three qualifying sessions was really nice, helped by the fact we had a quick car in Vegas, but that was definitely my highlight." In Austin, Sargeant got his first F1 point only after Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton were disqualified after the race.
