Horner and Wolff agree on Ferrari
This year, no bitter battle played out between Red Bull and Mercedes. Max Verstappen pulled off his third world title with ease, while Lewis Hamilton and George Russell battled the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. "We fought for second place and this time we won it. But the aim is that we can race for a championship. I guess that's true for Ferrari and ourselves," Wolff said in a conversation with Sky Sports.
Rumours have been circulating about Leclerc recently. The 26-year-old Monegasque is said to have signed a new deal with the Scuderia, again adding several years to his contract period. That would be a logical choice, thinks both Wolff and Horner.
"I don't know anything about the contractual situation there, but he's a great guy, and why wouldn't Ferrari sign him?" Wolff wondered. "It's totally natural," Horner added. "He's a great driver. I'm sure they'll want to keep hold of him, and they'd be crazy if they didn't."
Movie about Horner and Wolff?
Asked if he thinks his own rivalry with the Mercedes team boss will ever be filmed, Horner had to laugh. "Only the future will tell about that. You never know, grinned the Red Bull team boss.
