The 2024 Formula 1 season will again consist of a starting grid of 10 teams with two drivers each. Find out which drivers will start the 2024 season here.

The exact same 20 drivers will appear at the start of the 2024 season as the drivers who finished the season with the team in 2023. With Max Verstappen (2028) and Sergio Perez (2024), Red Bull Racing has two drivers who have already been tied up for longer, Mercedes extended the deals of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell until 2025.

When do F1 drivers' contracts expire?

Ferrari also had Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both under contract for another year, just as McLaren also chose Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri again. Norris is fixed until 2025 and McLaren last season extended Piastri's contract until 2026. Alpine still has the services of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon in 2024.

Officially, Aston Martin never made it, but Lance Stroll will also drive for the British team in 2024, as will Fernando Alonso whose contract expires at the end of 2024. At Williams, the last seat for 2024 was given away with the extension of Logan Sargeant's contract. He gets to prove himself again alongside Alexander Albon in 2024.

AlphaTauri is the only team to start 2024 differently from 2023. Red Bull's sister team still started Nyck de Vries in 2023, but replaced him mid-season for Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian will start the 2024 season with Yuki Tsunoda alongside him. Sauber, which was named Alfa Romeo last year, is again fielding Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou. Also at Haas, the experienced duo of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen will be chosen again in 2024.
