Verstappen starts tenth season in Formula 1: "Do you feel old yet?"
Max Verstappen is still only 26 years old, but the Dutchman is already embarking on his tenth season in the premier class of motorsport in 2024. With three world titles to his name, the Red Bull Racing driver is now among the more experienced drivers in Formula 1.
Verstappen starts tenth F1 season
Verstappen made his F1 debut in 2015 at the age of 17 with the then Scuderia Toro Rosso. In 2016, on the advice of Helmut Marko, he was brought to sister team Red Bull Racing. Already at his first race for the team, the Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen won the race. He became the youngest-ever race winner at the age of just 18 years and 228 days.
In 2021, Verstappen won his first world title after an exiting battle with Lewis Hamilton at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In 2022, he secured his second world title at the Japan GP. 2023 was a year of total dominance for the Red Bull driver. He won 19 out of 22 races and won his third world title with six races to go, equalling Michael Schumacher's 2002 record. Together with Red Bull, Verstappen is also considered the absolute top favourite for 2024.
