From 2026, Ford will partner with Red Bull Racing in Formula 1. That same year, new technical regulations will come into force. So this creates a lot of new challenges. Ford performance director Mark Rushbrook is very positive about how the collaboration is going so far and is confident about the future.

News broke in January 2023 that Red Bull Racing and Ford will join forces from 2026. Ford have not been involved in Formula 1 for many years. However, the American car brand does have ambitions to go on winning in the top class of motorsport.

Cooperation between Red Bull Racing and Ford is going well

Despite public criticism, the Ford performance director is very happy with the cooperation so far. "We are working very well with Red Bull. They are our partners, and our focus is on winning. We want that to be possible and have looked for the best partner," Rushbrook told Motorsport.com.

The competitive engine needed for 2026 is not yet ready, and there is still a lot of work to be done. Rushbrook is aware of that. "We made quite a lot of progress last year, but to be well prepared on the grid in 2026, there is still a lot to be done." The American does not want to reveal what steps are next.
