Allison signs new contract with Mercedes
In a press release, Mercedes confirms that Allison has signed a multi-year contract extension. The German F1 team has thus taken an important step in the run-up to the new regulations that will come into effect in 2026.
“F1 has brought me a lot of good fortune, but none greater than answering Toto's call to join Mercedes in 2017. It is a great privilege to continue this adventure, working alongside brilliant colleagues and fighting together for championship success," said Allison's statement.
Allison joined the team in 2017 as Technical Director, but later left for the INEOS Britannia America's Cup project as Chief Technical Officer. However, in April of 2023 he returned to the Mercedes F1 team, where his help was desperately needed. He replaced Mike Elliott, who left the team at the end of 2023.
