FIA attracts new chief with a history at McLaren

The FIA have hired a new 'Technical Head of Auditing'. The woman taking up the post has a past with McLaren's team and in Formula 1.
Marianne Hinson takes up the position. She will deal with tracking what the F1 teams are doing in their wind tunnels and in relation to their aerodynamic development and 'computational fluid dynamics'. Each team is entitled to a certain number of hours related to this development. Red Bull, as world champions, have the least number of hours available.
"This is going to be different..."
On LinkedIn, Hinson starts talking about her new role with pride: "After nearly 10 years at McLaren and 23 years in F1 teams, I’m doing something different. I’ve done some consultancy and enjoyed a bit of a break over the summer. But I couldn’t stay away from F1 for long. I’m joining the FIA as Head of Technical Audit for F1."
By adding Hinson, the FIA want to show that they are serious and want to complete more unannounced visits to the teams more often to see how they operate.
