The FIA have found a new technical director for the 'Single-Seater'. Jan Monchaux has been put forward as the new leader, after his predecessor Tim Goss soon disappeared from the governing body.

In a short time, many leading figures have left the FIA. Rumours suggest a hostile atmosphere created by FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. For instance, technical director Tim Goss and sporting director Steve Nielsen left. A replacement has now been found for Goss, who left for Visa Cash App RB.

Why the FIA needs new people

Monchaux is the FIA's new single-seater technical director. Monchaux last worked at Alfa Romeo as technical director. There, the Frenchman was replaced by James Key during mid-2023. Monchaux previously worked in F1 at Toyota and Ferrari. In the meantime, he also worked for Audi Sport.

"I am very happy to join the FIA as technical director and am looking forward to the new challenges this position brings. I have worked on the participants' side for many years, but now I will have the opportunity to work with the governing body to shape the future of the sport," Monchaux commented.

FIA Single-Seater director, Nikolas Tombazis, said the following: "I am delighted to welcome Jan to the FIA to play an important role in the technical department and in the drafting of the sport's future regulations. Jan's arrival will strengthen our extensive technical expertise."
