Formula 1 teams reflect on Lauda: 'Legendary legacy in the sport'
He remains one of the most legendary drivers of all time in Formula 1. The great Niki Lauda would have turned 75 on 22 February, but sadly, it was not to be. Formula 1 teams Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren are marking the anniversary of the iconic driver's death on 20 May 2019.
F1 world pauses to remember Lauda
"In memory of Niki Lauda on what would have been his 75th birthday. A top talent both on and off the track with a legendary legacy in our sport," McLaren writes on X, formerly Twitter. The Italian Scuderia also pauses to remember Lauda. " Remembering Niki on his birthday," it reads. Mercedes is also dwelling on the event.
