Horner satisfied after first race: 'A fantastic team performance'
An extremely dominant race by Red Bull Racing, as most fans actually expected. Team principal Christian Horner is very happy with the race the two drivers raced, he told Viaplay.
The Briton started talking very proudly of his team: "Yes, a fantaisc team performance, a very well executed race. Tremendous pace from both drivers. And yes, the best possible maximum points start to the new season."
The team principal was also very appreciative of Verstappen's race, including his fastest lap: "It was massive, but you have to remember he was on the soft tyre that we'd managed to carry over into the race. So again, another clinical drive by Max and a very strong drive by Checo. So very proud of the team today."
Eyes are on Jeddah
The team's eyes now turn to next Saturday, when they will race in Jeddah: "Yeah, and it looks like a lot warmer temperatures as well as a street track. So a different challenge. This is quite unique. The surfaces here are quite unique. So you can't read too much into just a sample of one race."
On Sky Sports, the Briton is proud of the work the team have done: "Well, you can see it's an aggressive evolution, and I think the design team, and the whole team, they've done a wonderful job, and they haven't rested on their laurels, they've pushed hard, they've pushed the boundaries, and you can see there's a lot of innovative ideas on the car. It's got the basis of 2019 in its DNA, but it's a strong evolution."
