Things are not yet going smoothly for Carlos Sainz in Saudi Arabia. The Spaniard skipped media day and got in the car for practice, but he is not feeling at his best yet. As such, it promises to be a tough weekend for the Ferrari driver.

Carlos Sainz started the 2024 Formula 1 season excellently with a third-place finish in Bahrain. This year's second F1 weekend has not gone so smoothly for Sainz. On Wednesday, he skipped media day because he was not feeling well. Sainz did get on track during FP1 and FP2, but it was not easy.

A difficult day for Sainz in Jeddah

''It was a very difficult day for me because I have not fully recovered from the sickness that has kept me in bed for the past 24 hours and I still feel very weak. Anyway, I made it to the track and managed to maximise the time with the car and the team. This track has a lot of grip and the high-speed corners make it very demanding for cars and drivers. Even though I couldn't push to the limit today, at least we completed the programme and hopefully tomorrow I will be fully recovered and we can focus on qualifying and the race.''

Sainz was supposed to make up for the missed media day in Saudi Arabia, but it was communicated by his Ferrari team that this would not go ahead.
