Norris sees few chances: 'They just have too big of a lead'
Lando Norris is anything but happy about the car's performance, he told F1TV. The Briton, who scored points for the second weekend in a row, thinks the rivals are still far too far ahead of them.
McLaren, and Norris, took the gamble of not going in for new tyres during the early Safety Car, a decision that didn't turn out particularly well. "We took a little bit of a gamble to try to go along on the mediums and hope there was a safety car but it never came so we gave it a shot, we could have just boxed in the beginning with everyone else but I thought we'd try something a little bit different and it could have worked it, but it didn't," said the 24-year-old Briton.
Red Bull and Ferrari too far away
Norris does think he missed some points: "I think we missed out on a couple of points from my side but we did what we could with the strategy that we chose so I'm happy with that and the weekend as a whole."
Once asked how the McLaren are faring as opposed to other teams, the Briton responded clearly: "Red Bull and Ferrari are quite a long way ahead, that's it.."
