Sainz caught off guard by stewards: This is his punishment
Carlos Sainz has received a reprimand from the stewards after the third free practice session. The Spaniard did not follow the race director's guidelines when it came to doing practice starts.
Carlos Sainz had to report to the stewards after the third free practice session. The Spaniard allegedly failed to comply with race director guidelines. Reference was made to the tenth item of the Race Director's Event Notes. In it, it was made clear where the trial starts were to be done.
"Car 55 [Sainz] performed a practice start in violation of the Race Director's Event Notes. which only pettit a pracuce start once the car has crossed the wine. car os nad not crossed the line, and whtle the stewards recognized that the station ahead of him was confusing, consistent with prior decisions, they issue a Reprimand (Driving)," the verdict said.
