FIA hand Alonso three penalty-points on licence as parting gift from F1

To give him a proper send-off in the final race of his F1-career, the FIA have given Fernando Alonso three penalty-points in his racing licence for cutting the track during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Spaniard started in P15, and in a typical dogged Alonso-performance, he finished 11th, just outside of the points. However, just after the race, he got penalized by the FIA, on top of the time-penalties he had already received during the race. Yes, that is 'penalties' in plural, as he got three different five-second penalties for cutting the course and gaining an advantage during the race.
According to the stewards, Alonso had “left the track and gained a lasting advantage” in the chicane of Turn 8 and Turn 9.
Still, Alonso finished 11th in the race in a good performance, and got Driver of the Day for his efforts.
