According to the latest rumours in Japan, Guenther Steiner is aiming for a return and wants to take over Visa Cash App RB. Steiner was the team boss of Haas until recently. He has been in the paddock during the 2024 Formula 1 season, often acting as a pundit. But he is said to be aiming for a return to a Formula 1 team, Japan's Axis-web.jp reports.

Many people know Steiner from the Netflix series Drive to Survive. Here, he was a much-discussed character as Haas' team boss because of his funny remarks. Since this season, Haas has had a new team boss in Ayao Komatsu, so Steiner does not currently have a team.

The Italian would like to return to Formula 1, though. He is said to have found an investor to buy into a team. There is currently speculation that Steiner would like to try to join Visa Cash App RB.

However, there are barriers to this idea. Red Bull would have several conditions that Steiner is less than happy with. The new owner must sign a contract with Red Bull Powertrains for the engine. This contract should be valid through 2030. In addition, there are rumours that the team would then also have to have a Red Bull junior. Finally, VCARB should use Red Bull's wind tunnel until 2030. The team would also have to pay for this.
